A wonderful antique jewellery box crafted in vibrant pink velvet with the box’s original fuchsia silk lined lid. The box has nine compartments to hold jewellery. The middle four compartments are all lined with original folded fuchsia silk, the other five compartments are all lined with velvet. This beautiful box is the perfect place to display and store your jewellery collection.

The gathered silk lid has the following words written on it in gold:

‘JAMES WEIR, PRACTICAL WATCHMAKER AND JEWELLER, 25 & 27. ARGYLE STREET, GLASGOW., EST. 1860’

The box is covered with brown leather. Please see the photographs. The box is hinged and closes with its original push button clasp. This is an antique box that has been repurposed as a jewellery box.

The external measurements of the box are approximately 22.5cm X 16cm X 3cm tall.

Please look at the photographs as they form part of the description. This is an antique box and as such shows some signs of wear and tear. The outside of the box was quite damaged - work has been undertaken to renovate it, however there is still evidence of the damage in the texture of the exterior. This does not detract from the overall beauty of the box, but if you are looking for something perfect this one is probably not for you.
