A wonderful antique double door jewellery box crafted in green velvet and Liberty of London tana lawn. This box has space for between six and eighteen rings or pairs of earrings in cushions across the middle of the box. Around the cushions there are compartments for other pieces of jewellery such as chains and pendants. This beautiful box is the perfect place to display and store your collection of jewellery - it is ideal for the nightstand or dressing table or as a travel box.

The doors of this beautiful box are lined with Liberty of London tana lawn (cotton) in their famous Ianthe design in navy blue, cream and green. Ianthe is possibly Liberty's most iconic Art Nouveau design. It was originally created as a wallpaper border by the French artist Beauclair in the early 1900’s. It was subsequently adapted for Liberty by the Haward Studio in 1967 and has formed part of their collections ever since, becoming part of the Tana Classics in 1986.

The box closes with its original flip over brass clasp. The box is covered with brown faux leather. It has a faded gold edge around the lid. The doors of the box lay flat when the box is open. The box dates from the early part of the 20th century.

The external measurements of the box at its widest points are approximately 15.5cm X 15.5cm X 3cm tall. This is an antique box that has been repurposed as a jewellery box.
