A substantial silver double layer jewellery box with a deep green velvet interior and a Liberty of London silk lid. This is a converted Art Deco cedar lined cigar box which has been adapted for use as a jewellery box. An elegant box perfect to store jewellery in between use on the dressing table or nightstand

Exterior: Crafted in solid 925 silver sheets with a cedar lining. The box has the clean lines associated with the Art Deco period. The lid has a slightly frilly edge at middle of the front to open the box, there are no other embellishments apart from the hallmark and maker’s mark
Box Maker: Fenton Bros. Ltd., South Moor Works, Earl Street, Sheffield
Hallmark: Worn and hard to read. The Lion Passant stamp is present for 925 silver. Year date letter is not legible. Assay office is likely to be Sheffield due to the clear maker’s mark
Dimensions: Approx. 21cm x 14cm x 8.5cm
Weight: 1.5kg
Interior: Rich green cotton velvet and Liberty of London silk in their iconic Ianthe design in green, orange, yellow and cream
Condition: Antique with visible signs of age and wear; There is a ding to the front left of the box where it closes - please see the photographs. The box still closes well and the ding is not obvious.

This box is ideal for display, photography, or as a collector’s piece. Its aged patina and delicate craftsmanship speak to its history - not suited for those seeking pristine condition, but perfect for lovers of authentic antique charm.
