An Antique Jewellery Box in Mint Velvet with a Liberty of London Lid

An Antique Jewellery Box in Mint Velvet with a Liberty of London Lid
A wonderful frilly wooden jewellery box crafted in mint velvet and Liberty of London silk. This box has space for at least four rings or pairs of earrings in cushions down the centre of the box. On either side of the cushions there is a compartment for other pieces of jewellery such as chains and pendants. This beautiful box is the perfect place to display and store your collection of jewellery - it is ideal for the nightstand or dressing table.
The inside of the box is made from mint green cotton velvet. The lid is crafted with Liberty of London silk in their Treasure Chest design in cream. ‘Treasure Chest captures the sinuosity, symmetry and sophistication of Archibald Knox’s artistic vision, mirroring a beautiful window display of cherished jewellery pieces’. It is part of the Liberty 150 year anniversary ‘Retold’ collection.
The box is crafted in dark wood with a curvy, ornate shape. The lid sits upright when the box is open.
The external measurements of the box at its widest points are approximately 21cm X 10cm X 8cm tall. This is a vintage box that has been repurposed as a jewellery box. It dates from the 1930’s.
Please look at the photographs as they form part of the description. This is a vintage box and as such shows some signs of wear and tear.
