A wonderful Victorian oval glass locket crafted in 9ct antique yellow gold. The locket is wonderfully simple and elegant. It works well either worn on its own on a simple chain or as part of a neck stack.

• Design: Two thick bevelled glass pieces held in a 9ct gold oval frame with a screw top bail. A photograph could be inserted between the glass

• Dimensions: Long drop 25.4mm across the oval, 38.4mm from the top of the bail

• Weight: 4.4g

• Gold Purity: Hallmarked for 9ct gold, Birmingham, 1852. XRF tested to confirm purity

• Condition: Shows gentle signs of age and wear, consistent with its antique nature. There are some nibbles to the edge of the glass, these are not visible once the glass is secured inside the locket

This piece is not deep enough to be used as a shaker locket.
