Edwardian Compass Fob, 9ct

Edwardian Compass Fob, 9ct

£225.00

A wonderful Edwardian compass fob with a twisted top, perfect worn on its own on a simple chain or as part of a neck-stack.

The pointer is purple and the points of the compass are marked in black.

The compass weighs 5.7g. It has a hallmark for 9ct, Birmingham, 1906 and the sponsor’s initials of ‘JG&S’ around the edge. The twisted top and outer case are made from 9ct rose gold, hence the hallmark. The inner part/workings of the compass are more yellow in colour and are likely to be made from gilt metal (not gold).

The compass measures 30mm across and has a drop of 40mm, including the bail.

The chain and other pieces of jewellery are not included.

Please look carefully at all the photographs as they form part of the description. Please be aware this is an antique piece of jewellery and as such shows some signs of wear. This piece is quite worn. The lettering of some of the points is quite faded and there are some scratches to the surface of the glass on one side, and some minor damage to the edge of the inner case where it circles the glass. Please see the photographs.

The other pieces of jewellery are not included.
