A fabulous pair of antique pool of light orb earrings, hanging on silver fittings. These wonderful earrings date from the late Victorian period and the chinoiserie obsession of that time. They have a magical quality, catching the light beautifully and elegantly.

Pool of light jewellery is particularly sought after. It is made from rock crystal, a clear quartz that originated from China that was carved into orbs. These magical orbs are thought to have their own ‘good energy’ or chi. When placed on a surface light is refracted through the spheres making them glow and creating a pool of light next to the orb, hence their name. When you look at something through a rock crystal orb the image is upside down as the quartz acts like a camera lens.
