A particularly wonderful Victorian pinchbeck double ball chain curb long guard chain crafted in yellow rolled gold. This is a magnificent chain with a really substantial feel. It is a versatile piece - it can be worn long or wrapped several times around the neck. The bolt ring and dog clip clasps allow the easy addition of a pendant or charms for a different look. The chain’s timeless, elegant design adds elegance to any outfit.

The chain measures approximately 56 inches/142cm long and weighs 66g. The curb links each measure approximately 4.8mm x 4.2mm x 1.8mm. The bolt ring is a good size, measuring 10.6mm across; the dog clip is small, measuring 16mm from one end to the other. The chain is made from yellow rolled gold.

Rolled gold was made by fusing a base metal between two thin sheets of gold. It was first created in the 19th century when it became a popular alternative to costume jewellery. The fact that its rolled gold makes this much more affordable than a solid gold chain. It means that all of the wonderful antique looks and craftsmanship can be yours at a fraction of the price.
