A wonderful antique vesta case crafted in sterling silver. An amazing piece of history - this case was once attached to a gentleman’s Albert watch chain to carry matches. The lid is sprung and closes beautifully, and there is a ridged panel across the bottom which would have been used to strike matches. This highly collectible piece has a lovely weight and presence, it is an excellent statement pendant worn on a long chain.
