A wonderful small Georgian mourning brooch crafted in 9ct gold. This beautiful chased piece is slightly domed with a bevelled glass front that is holding a lock of plaited blond hair in place. The name ‘Ellen’ in engraved on the back of the brooch. The brooch closes to a ‘C’ clasp. This brooch is beautifully made and is in excellent condition for a piece of its age. 

The brooch measures 18mm along its longest edge and weighs 2.7g. It is not hallmarked as is common with pieces of this era. It been XRF tested as 9ct gold.
