A magical pool of light antique locket crafted in 9ct gold. The locket is hinged and opens to hold a photograph or lock of hair if desired.

This piece dates from the late Victorian period and the chinoiserie obsession of that time. Pool of light jewellery is made from rock crystal, a clear quartz that originated from China and was carved into orbs. These magical orbs are thought to have their own ‘good energy’ or chi. When placed on a surface light is refracted through the spheres making them glow and creating a pool of light next to the orb, hence their name. When you look at something through a rock crystal orb the image is upside down as the quartz acts like a camera lens.
