An 18" Victorian Curb Double Albert Chain in 9ct Gold

£1,895.00

A wonderful 18” antique curb double Albert chain crafted in 9ct rose gold. The chain has solid links, double dog clip clasps and a detachable T bar. This wonderful chain would make an excellent addition to a jewellery collection. It can be worn Albert style with the T bar attached to the dog clips at the front. The T bar can be removed and if desired, a pendant or charms can be hung from the dog clips. The chain can also be doubled up and worn as a bracelet.

The chain measures approximately 18”/46m long and weighs 37.3g.

The chain is crafted in 9ct antique rose gold. Every link is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold. Many of the stamps are worn due to the age of the chain. The curb links are uniform in size. They measure approximately 6mm x 5mm x 2mm.

The T bar measures 42mm across and hangs from a 28cm length of chain, including end rings. The T bar is stamped ‘9 375’ for 9ct gold and has the maker’s mark of ‘V S’. It is detachable from the Albert chain. It can be used as a 1” extender to create a 19” chain. Please see the photographs.

The dog clips both measure approximately 21mm from one end to the other. One is stamped ‘9 375’ for 9ct gold, the other is stamped ‘9C’ and has the maker’s mark of ‘CDB’.

Please look carefully at all the photographs as they form part of the description. Please be aware that this is an antique piece of jewellery and as such shows some signs of wear.

The other pieces of jewellery are not included.
